With kennels filled beyond capacity and adoptions stagnating despite creative incentives and adoption campaigns, we’re calling on the public’s help to empty the shelters at the Hawaiian Humane Society’s Mōʻiliʻili Campus and Kosasa Family Campus at Hoʻopili. We believe every pet deserves a loving home, so we’re proud to partner with the Bissell Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelter national adoption event.

Starting today, visit Hawaiian Humane’s Mōʻiliʻili Campus, the Kosasa Family Campus, and off-site adoption partners, Pounce Hawaiʻi and select PETCOs islandwide, to enjoy reduced adoption fees of just $25 for all dogs and cats, all ages. Even better, because cats do better in pairs – adopt two cats or kittens, and the second adoption fee is waived. Don’t miss this paw-fect opportunity to find your new best friend!

Not in a position to adopt? You can still make a life-changing difference through our Couch Crashers and Lap Crashers short-term foster programs for dogs and cats! Right now, our kennels are critically full, with more pets in need coming into our care every day. Participating in Couch and Lap Crashers gives dogs and cats a break from the shelter, helps us to learn more about what they’re like in a home environment, and allows Hawaiian Humane to have the space and resources available for the animals that need us most. Couch and Lap Crashers are also a wonderful option for those who would like to see if a particular dog or cat would be a good long-term match with their family, lifestyle and resident pets. It’s so easy: all you have to do is visit our Mōʻiliʻili or Kosasa Family campuses and ask an Adoptions Representative about Couch or Lap Crashing an adoptable animal!
